Swelling Hose
The superabsorbent for waterproofing in the construction sector
The swelling tubes are soft and extremely flexible, therefore adapts itself to every joint shape. It is not necessary to treat the joint geometry, e.g. cut joint parallel to be able to install the sealing material. The joint has only to be cleaned, then the swelling tubes are inserted and backfilled.
When working on pipe feedthroughs, wrap tube 2-3 times around the pipe and press it into the annular gap, fill the front with expansion foam. Again, it doesn´t matter how large or uneven the gap is, the tube and the sealant adapt themselves to every shape.
The pellets can also be used for floor joints, spread them approx. 2cm high, stick swelling fleece on top for protection and then fill joint with PU-foam or mortar.
Both methods are quick and easy, compared to other sealants there are less steps of procedure and less cost intensive wages.
The generated sealant when in contact with water doesn´t only seal the joint void but also cracks in the bordering building element. Consequently, no water presses through the joint.
This method of sealing is particularly interesting in case of expansion joints where movement is expected. If swelling tubes and their coverage are installed correctly, several millimeters up to 1,5cm joint enlargement can be compensated without any leakage.
