Frequently asked questions about PERMAGEL
All older buildings with bricks, natural stones, half-timber, sand-lime bricks, lightweight concrete blocks, hollow stones, double-leaf cavity walls with facework. Also modern hollow bricks (e.g. Poroton hollow brick or sand-lime brick) can easily be sealed. This is also true for natural stone masonry, timber frame constructions, etc. as well as expansion and construction joints of concrete buildings.

The reason: PERMAGEL is no hydrophobizing agent, it does not seal the capillaries inside the stone like an impregnation does. PERMAGEL seals all gaps, cracks, cavities in the wall and thus avoids the transport of water from the foundation as well as the traverse moisture penetration which results from insufficient waterproofing.
Even small amounts of PERMAGEL in the wall transform the water inside the wall into a proofing gel and blocks oncoming water. PERMAGEL finds the water by itself, fills all invisible water accumulations in the wall. 100 ml of PERMAGEL transform 1 liter of water into a proofing gel.
First you need to find out what type of stone you have (full bricks, hollow stones, small or large-sized formats), how thick your wall is, and to what height the moisture has already risen. Does your building (year of construction?) have a continuous bottom plate or a strip foundation (see construction plans)? When you have all the information, please concact us and we will discuss together how to proceed. Because every building was built very differently, the individual type of construction, the materials, etc. need to be considered. Yes, this is no problem. You just need one of our sets, an 18 x 400 mm drill bit and a drill, that's all. If the plaster is already highly damaged, it must go. After that, expose the gaps, mark the drill holes, depending on the type of stone drill angularly downwards or horizontally into the gaps, drive the plastic packers in (included in the set), inject the gel, cut off the packers flush with the wall, spackle the spot, done.

Of course we warrant the effectiveness for 15 years. Understandably we cannot provide any warrany for the work you do or for any misapplication.
For life, if you do it right. Our partner Fraunhofer Institute can prove the effectiveness by the current state of scientific knowledge at least 15 years, but at least 50 years can be expected. PERMAGEL stays active and responsive the whole time, and it will still stop water coming through new cracks or settlings in the wall after 15 years.
The required amount of PERMAGEL needed depend on the wall thickness, the type of stone, full bricks or hollow stones, the number of imperfections in the wall and the design of the building. Here are some average values:

Please consider: 1 liter of PERMAGEL can transform 150 liters of water inside the wall into a proofing gel. It grouts itself inside the wall and thus finds all cavities and cracks.
